Who writes this

Jun Li. I live in Arnhem, in the Netherlands, and I drive more than 30,000 km a year across Europe — partly for work, partly because I would rather arrive by car than by gate B47. Most of this site comes out of problems I have had to solve in a car park with the engine running.

That is the whole qualification. I am not a municipal official and I do not work for a parking operator. What I have is the mileage, a Dutch plate that gets treated as a foreign plate almost everywhere south and east of here, and an irritating unwillingness to accept "check locally" as an answer.

What that means for the numbers on this site

Every price, phone number, address, fine and opening hour here comes from the body that sets it: the city, the police, the road authority, the car park operator. Each city page lists its sources at the bottom — usually twenty to thirty of them — and carries the date it was last checked.

The rule that decides what goes on a page is simple and it has no exceptions: if I cannot verify a number against an official source, it does not appear. Where a city publishes nothing, the page says so instead of guessing. Kraków's clean transport zone, Bruges's towing procedure and Innsbruck's pound address are all documented that way — as gaps, because that is what they are.

Where two official sources disagree, both go on the page along with which one to trust. That happens more often than you would think, and it is usually the city's own legal text that is out of date.

About the AI tooling

I use AI tools to research and draft. I have said so on the about page since the site went up, and I am not going to stop saying it.

What the tooling does not do is decide what is true. Every number on this site was checked against a primary source before it was published, and the source is linked so you can check it yourself. The verification rule above is the thing that matters; the drafting tool is not.
